What Makes Jembe Fund Unique?

Jembe Fund is: Teen Focused, Teen Managed and Teen Founded. We provide high school teens in Africa with access to the marvels of online learning through provision of the critical components needed to make this possible. Namely laptops, tablets, data access, online curriculum, and tutor resources. Our goal is a world where every teenager has equal access to online learning. We need your support to enable Jembe Fund to provide Laptops, Tablets, Data Access and learning resources. We’re reaching out to all our friends, well-wishers, and corporate partners to donate tablets, laptop computers, and airtime bundles or sponsor a child to an online class. This will allow us to achieve our objective of individual tutoring, and continuous learning for the next generation of African leaders.

Frequently Asked Questions

Jembe is Swahili for a hoe – this simple farming tool is often all a peasant farmer has to farm and feed his family. Therefore, a hoe is a critical tool needed by the farmers. Likewise, tablets and internet access are fundamental if high school teens are to succeed in life.
We could not believe when we learned how little it costs to transform the online learning experience for high school teens in developing countries. Almost half of African schoolchildren are unable to access remote learning during Covid schools’ closure. Your support will help bridge the digital divide and help to reach every teen with online learning capabilities and the benefits that entail.
As the benefactor or as we like to call you — OUR HERO – your contribution can go to work in 3 possible ways based on your assignment. 1. You can designate specifically to fund: Laptops, or tablets or airtime, tutoring staff, or project administration. 2. You can designate your donation to fund the purchasing of much-needed digital learning kits for a specific number of high teens. 3. You can contribute to the Jembe Fund general fund which keeps the entire operation afloat.
Giving is the Best Flex We all know posting on social media is all the rage. Showing off the latest designer clothes and shoes is an easy way to gain some likes and views. At Jembe Fund we believe we have a better way to win you a mega fan base - showing off your giving. It is easy to indulge in the latest fashion and devices, but it takes a real heart to decide to share your blessings with someone less fortunate. We are so proud of each donor who shows us every day the power and character of our generation. We love teens in Africa and can’t wait to share their stories with you. Share your donation with the world on social media and make sure to let them know that #donateatablet is a noble cause. Finally, don’t forget to tag us @jembefund we’ll always try to share the love right back.
